 The Truth About DIVORCE in the bible. 

Religious Agony of Single moms in divorce 

Matthew 19:7-12
It is good to know that Jesus spoke about divorce before His death and not after His death.

Before this time, He hasn't shed His blood for the world including the divorcees. 

It was after she spoke and addressed all issues concerning mosaic laws that He laid down His life for Grace to emerge. 

From the above Bible passage, Matthew 19:7-12.
The discussion was between Jesus Christ and His disciples. The instruction in this passage was clearly directed to men. 

Simply because man is the Head of the home. 

Man leaves his father and mother to cling unto his wife. 

After telling them that a man is not allowed to put away his wife except on the ground of fornication. 

Whosoever put away his wife on any other condition except on the ground of fornication has committed fornication and also made such woman commit fornication. 

Jesus was clear about this instructions. I will later show you as we progress, where He addressed this same issue from a practical angle, this time talking to a woman instead of man.

Jesus knew that the modern day Pharisees will still arise just like the case of the whore when the pharisees were set to stone her to death according to the law of moses. 

He allowed Grace to cover all divorcees by treating their cases before shedding His blood.
The divorcees are not exempted from enjoying the benefits of Grace His blood brought on mankind.
He purchased us all, both married and divorced.

As a devoted Christian, I will never allow my daughter to suffer a multiple domestic violence and still allow her to be married to such man. I don't pray for it to happen anyways but if it does happen, I shall quickly become wise like the serpent but gentle gentle like a dove. 

Speaking pidgin- I no fit open my eyes make one devil incarnate come finish wetin I dey water as seed till she grow to be married.

This means, I won't allow anyone cut short my daughters life in the name of domestic violence in marriage  

John 8:3-12
He asked the pharisees that brought a woman caught in the act of fornication  

The bible didn't tell us if the woman was a single mom, or unmarried.
They wanted to tempt the Master. They asked Him to judge her but His reply was: he who is without sin should cast the first stone. 

After the pharisees have left one after the other, He turned to her and asked if any man has condemned her, she answered, no. Likewise the  Master exonerated her and asked her to go and sin no more. 

She met with the MESSIAH and she regained liberty. After this scene, He said in the next verse... I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

He knew many will have to divorce due to domestic violence. He took care of the end time saga in the area of marriage by treating the issue of divorcee in pre era of His death so that His death and resurrection can become effective against such. 

He died and gained victory on all sins and death. The sin of adultery is included. IWhat more? 

Don't salvage your happiness. God is the source of good marriage. He institutionalised the first marriage in the garden of Eden.

If you are yet to be found by the man from whose bone you were carved out and created, you are in a wrong marriage.
God does not want you there.

John 4
Jesus met the samaritan woman at the well side in a place called SYCHAR in Hebrew meaning End.
Jesus asked her for water but she denied Him. Jesus told her if He knew who was asking her for water, she would have given Him without delay. 

He said he can give her living water. She wanted the living water, so she pleaded, pls give me so that I won't be thirsty anymore. 

The next thing Jesus told her was to go and call her husband. Did Jesus know about her situation before they met? Yes, He knew about it prophetically because He was 100% man and 100%God.

He knew she has been thirsty all this while concerning her marriage. The woman was fed up and she needed to get it right at this last time. Remember they were by Jacobs well in SYCHAR, meaning END.

SYCHAR signifies end to her wayward life of living, Jesus did not condemn her because she knew she fell in a category of those He has come to redeem.
She told Jesus she didn't have a husband.
The woman was a single mom with a record of 5 Ex husbands.
Jesus told her she has 5 husbands earlier and the 6th one she's living with is not her husband.

Jesus did the job of a prophet there.
She was in a wrong marriage just like many women are now. 

Jesus was interested in salvaging her situation. 

Jesus didn't condemn her. 

The woman marveled at Jesus's revelation of her.
She met with the MESSIAH
See Jesus's reply to her.

John 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship....
God seek for those who will worship him in spirit and in truth.

In Summary, the two women used as examples in this write up were not condemned by Jesus Christ.

The single moms are facing a lot in this dispensation. Many of them are products of domestic violence  Society in places like Africa relegate them. They face abuses daily from their contemporary married women. The are accused wrongly. 

As a matter of fact, if someone like me, a male was severally accused of looking at the pastors wife in a former church during service. And it was announced during the service by the pastor. 

Meanwhile reverse was the case. 

I was totally thrown into confusion during this occurrence. It took the interference of other workers who witnessed the scenerio to tell the pastor that it was a cooked up story. He was advised to tell his wife, mummy GO to stop looking at me instead. This wasn't a palatable joke at all. 

Simply because I was a widower. 

I was really heart broken. I have also witnessed so many cases of where men submit their divorced wife's to emotional trauma. I have witnessed where single moms were subjected to unhealthy discrimination. 

It is not an offence to be single. It is better to be single for a whole and get it right the next time than to be relegated into a marital shithole experiment. 

This write up is not meant to encourage women to file for a divorce nor for men to dissolve their marriage at will.

 It is the truth from the word of God to help those who found themselves in a wrong marriage to encourage them to get away from the allien land into the promise land.

It is to present to them the Truth as provided by our Lord Jesus Christ in the scripture about the living water.

I encourage you to find solace in the Word of God. Ensure your marriage is founded in Christ and that you are not in a wrong one. 

No matter the tumult, once you are sure you are not in a wrong marriage, you will surely be satisfied with the living water. 

The turbulent shall pass. 

But if you have already found out you are in a wrong marriage, Jesus is telling you, just like He told that woman of samaria, get out, stop drinking from the pot you are not satisfied of. If you keep drinking from it, you will continue to be divorced and you will never be satisfied maritaly.
If you want to be satisfied maritaly and be filled till you want no more, give your live to Jesus Christ.
Your season of single motherhood should not be the time to attend to frivolities of life. 

Don't deliberately commit sin under the pretence of been a single mom. Don't condemn yourself when God has not condemned you. 

He Loves you dearly. You are one of the laboured He is calling out for.
He has not come to condemn you but to restore you.

Rom 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

If you are willing, Say this simple prayers loud and clear.
I......................... (mention your name) surrender my life to you Jesus Christ. Pls save me. Give me the power to live a holy and wise life in You.
I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. From now and forever more. Amen
